Buckle Up…road trip
In the news: The American Academy of Pediatrics has released new guidelines on child safety seats in vehicles: child safety guidelines have changed( age, weight, type of buster seat) traveling in the car. The age and weight of the children should be in the back seat, babies and toddlers should be facing backward. For more information about child safety visit http://www.aap.org
Have you ever thought what about the dog?
I can only say, after last summer. When my folks with their golden retreiver had an auto accident. The dog bounced around the vehicle, causing damage to my Mom. All are fine today. But if the dog had been buckled in with a dog harness. Could that have prevented bodily harm. Very possible.
Many pet owners crate their dog in the back of the SUV or large vehicle. Do you secure the crate, to prevent movement? My thought was the same. Would the crate bounce around in an accident? I don’t know? Depending on the size of the dog, crate and design of the vehicle? Who can say….
What are your thoughts? Have you or know someone who has experienced this?
So here is a resource for you and your travel dog. Even if a few minutes down the road: Buckle Up. Pet Auto Safety provides dog harness for all sizes.
A concerned pet owner, bring a thoughtful ‘pawes’ to our day : )
