Kitten Season is here and I am not pleased, ask me why?
The other day I read an empowering article by Keith Sanderson, you know the ones you just need to comment on, “More spay and Neuter programs with vouchers can help control the kitten boom. Prevention is the cure. Educating the public; more assistance to make the decision and the reduced cost helps, find different means to draw public awareness of the positive benefits for spay and neutering. ~ : ) ” This was my comment.
Living in the country has its good points; for one my neighbor is a veterinarian, the second is my other neighbors share a picturesque scene of soft rolling pastures. A year ago one neighbor received 2 female kittens for their kids. I saw the cute adorable kittens and chatted with the new proud owners about the importance of spay and neuter the young females. I explained within our community we have a voucher program to help with the cost. A wonderful public service to have reduced or no fee vouchers.
Well here the bad side of living in the country. The young female had six kittens a month ago. What irks me is the veterinarian is a stone throw away from their front door. So how to empower a person to be a responsible pet owner. Read Keith Sanderson’s article ~
